DSP PC-Tool Version 3

The DSP PC-Tool software version 3 is a brand-new and completely revised version of our previous version 2, offering a bunch of new and extended features. Despite of its significantly improved functionality, this software is still as intuitive and easy to use as before. We have spend an enormous effort to keep the well-known and highly recognized look & feel unchanged. So if you are familiar with the previous software, it will be a "no-brainer" for you to make use of all the advantages of the version 3.

Loads of hints and tricks how to use our DSP PC-Tool software versions plus several advice for a proper calibration of a sound equipment can be found in our Sound Tuning Magazine "DSP Special Vol.1", "DSP Special Vol.2" and "DSP Setup Guide Vol.1". They can be downloaded for free:

  • DCM - DIRECTOR Tone Control has been added: This is a new feature which can be activated in the DCM menu of the DSP PC-Tool under the DIRECTOR section. After the activation a new soft key is available in the DIRECTORs softkey assignment. This function allows to control bass and treble level in a similar way a shelf-filter does - Gain can be adjusted to +/- 6 dB in 0.25 dB steps and as well the crossover frequency for bass (10 - 1 kHz in 10 Hz steps) and treble (1 kHz - 20 kHz in 100 Hz steps) on the fly. The functions can be switched by using the pushbutton.
    The activation of the Tone Control feature deactivates the second EQ band of each DSP-channel. This EQ band can be replaced by any other EQ band by using the parametric EQ.
  • Main - the afp-file import has been further improved and now applies also all FineEQ adjustments.
  • DCM - The minimal adjustbale Power Save Mode time has been reduced to 10 seconds. The standard value is still set to 30 seconds.

  • Updating the DSP operating software now always applies on both internal memroies. Please note that both sound setups are unconfigured after the update and have to be reprogrammed.
  • DCM (HELIX P SIX DSP) - Added  the feature 'Dynamic headroom management" which allows to increase the maximum output power of each channel pair by accepting higher distortion.
  • DCM - The signal detection of the digital / optical input(s) is set to manual by default to avoid an inadvertent activation of the input after the update process is completed.

  • Bugfixes for MATCH PP 82DSP
  • Multilanguage: Chinese language support completely implemented

3.11b

public beta release

  • Loading of afp-files from DSP PC-Tool V2 is now enabled. The loading file screen shows now an option to choose the file extension in the lower right edge. The actual version transfers the following adjustments: High- and lowpass filter settings, time alignment settings, output level and EQ gain settings. The next software release will also transfer center frequency and Q-factor adjustment of the EQ. Adjustments of the DCM menu will not be supported. It is strongly recommended to check all adjustments after the transfer.
